I found myself racing to the finish line in order to put this baby to bed. Some of the author's work was interesting in my youth but this one didn't do it for me. All schmaltz and no chicken.

Beautiful story - just could not put the book down until I finsihed it.

This book is so good I have lent it to two friends who also liked the book very much. If you are looking for a WWII book with accurate
historical information and great characterization then this is a good book for you.
Well written, suspenseful, with Barber's usual unexpected twists & turns. Not quite as wonderful as The Other Side of Paradise...but an exciting read for sure.
